OPENJOBMETIS VARESE, AN AGREEMENT WITH PABLO BERTONE

Openjobmetis Varese Basketball is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with Pablo Bertone. Class of 1990, Bertone has signed a contract that will bind him to the Red & Whites until the end of the 2018/19 season with an option for a successive season. Solid and fast shooting guard, with great energy on both sides of the court, Bertone has been part of the Italian National 3x3 during the recent qualification to the FIBA European Championship. Last season he played in the Serie A Basketball League with a Pesaro jersey and was a key player in the salvation of the Marche team.

Born in Arroyito (province of Cordoba, Argentina) with an Italian passport, Bertone grew up in the United States where he attended the Rise Academy – South Dade Charter School and later Florida Atlantic University. In four years with FAU, he scored 9.6 points (18.9 in 33’ last year), 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists with 44.2% 2-pointers and 34.8% 3-pointers. In 2014, he arrived in Europe and played with La Palma del Mallorca, a team in the second Spanish league with whom he totalled 10.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in 29 games. After the Iberian experience, he returned to Argentina to play with a Lanus and Instituto Atletico Central jersey. With the Buenos Aires team, he played 55 games with an average of 11.2 points and 3.3 rebounds, while in Cordoba he totalled 11.4 points, 2.6 rebounds in 60 games (51.4% 2-pointers and 36.3% 3-pointers) and was included in the best quintet of the championship. Last season he was at Pesaro where he scored 10.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2 average assists (a high of 23 points against Milan and Cremona).
