Yesterday afternoon (Monday 21st May 2018), a whole host of Red & White’s fans descended on the Marelli & Pozzi car dealership in Varese for the end of season Openjobmetis Varese basketball party. Presented one after another by Michele Marocco and by Captain Giancarlo Ferrero, the players and the staff of Openjobmetis together with the top of Pallacanestro Varese, ‘Varese in the Heart’ and ‘We Are Basketball’ received applause by the many sponsors, consortium members and fans who once again showed their support for the leading lights of a fabulous season that brought Varese to the playoffs after 5 seasons.



«Every year we start a new season hoping to get results -said Antonio Bulgheroni, counsellor, Varese Basketball- «This year the guys were incredible thanks to everyone's work. Unfortunately we got to the playoffs and were out of breath: it's a shame because we deserved to stay in the series longer».



«I'm not talking about miracles -said Attilio Caja, coach, Openjobmetis Varese Basketball- «because miracles turn the players into a different category of people, like doctors who save people. We simply do our duty. However, this year the lads have been commendable, they have done their duty to perfection and as I said at some press conferences, I have run out of adjectives to describe them. The lads also renewed my level of trust in them – I knew they could improve and give the team more, but I think they went even further. This means that we take our work seriously and we all have to give the lads our support, regardless of what they do in the future».



After the greetings, the fans then took the opportunity to tell jokes and to take souvenir photos with their favourites. Marelli & Pozzi in Viale Borri was the setting for a wonderful and emotional collective embrace, a celebratory moment that officially ended the 2017/18 season.
