On the evening of Wednesday 21 February, the eighth instalment of the VNC Cup took place. This is an annual mini-tournament that sees the owners of the ‘Varese in the Heart’ Consortium and the ‘We Are Basketball’ Trust come together on court. Divided into three teams, members and associates challenged each other in an exciting triad under the collective watchful gaze of Coach Attilio Caja, General Manager Claudio Coldebella and Team Manager Massimo Ferraiuolo. Present also at the evening were the Red & White’s assistants Matteo Jemoli, Raimondo Diamante and Massimo Bulleri, who put on a show for their respective teams. Nicola Natali and Matteo Tambone refereed under the supervision of Tyler Larson, an exceptionally talented observer. In an evening of fun and entertainment that put so many smiles on so many faces, the three teams, Team Castelli, Team Trust and Team Laudi, gave life to a series of exciting games that thrilled everyone. At the end of the VNC Cup, it was Team Castelli who came through with players Alberto and Francesco Castelli, Mattia Ghielmi, Michele Ambrosetti, Nicola Casazza, Riccardo Fusaro, Mario Tura De Marco, Michele Facco and Massimo Bulleri. Before the final farewells, all players were in centre court for the usual group photos and then moved to the ‘Giancarlo Gualco’ room for a post-game snack.
