The 2019-2020 Varese Basketball season will officially begin on Thursday 8th August. This is when Coach Caja’s lads will come together for the first training session at the Enerxenia Arena at the end of which players and staff will make themselves available to fans for autographs and the traditional souvenir photos.
On the following day, Varese will continue their training schedule in the city, which will continue until Monday, 19th August, the day when the Red & Whites depart for Gressoney-La-Trinité. In the magnificent setting of Valle d'Aosta, Ferrero and his teammates will be on retreat until Saturday 24th, taking advantage of the inimitable, warm hospitality of Valle d'Aosta to unite the group and lay the foundations for the season to come. From Tuesday 27th August to Sunday 1st September, the team are in Bormio where they will put themselves to the test playing three luxury friendly matches – on Wednesday 28th, they face Galatasaray. The following day, they challenge the Turkish champions Efes Istanbul. On Sunday 1st September, they face Enisey Krasnojarsk from Russia. On Wednesday 4th September, Vedano Olona host a friendly match against Orzinuovi, and on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th, the ten-time Italian champions club will play in a tournament in Parma against Cantù, Virtus Bologna and Brescia, the team against whom Varese play the first semi-final scheduled for 17.30. Memorial Di Bella’s turn is on 11th September, which will be played in Pavia. The next opponents are Vanoli Cremona. On Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th, Coach Caja’s team travel once more to Naples in a tournament against Capodistria, Trieste and Virtus Roma (who we play in the semi-finals). On 19th September, the final round before the start of the championship (scheduled for Wednesday, 25th September) – the Enerxenia Arena will host Sam Massagno.
