On Monday May 23, 2016, the Board of Directors of Varese Basketball appointed Marco Vittorelli as the new chairman of the Red & White’s club. Marco Vittorelli, the 20th chairman in the history of Varese Basketball, former member of the board and number one Named Sponsor of Varese Basketball – Employment Agency Openjobmetis SpA – will remain in office for the next three years, until the closure of the balance sheet of the 2018/2019 season.

During the day, the Board of Directors also outlined duties and other mandates – Monica Salvestrin will again be vice chairman, Fabrizio Fiorini will be CEO, while Antonio Bulgheroni and Riccardo Polinelli will be the other two directors.

The Varese Basketball Board also appointed Claudio Coldebella for the role of general manager of the Red & White’s club. Coldebella, one of the most respected professionals in the world of Italian basketball and one of the most accomplished people within the industry, having gained high-level experience as a player, coach and manager, has signed a two-year contract with an option for a third. After many battles of being opponents on court, the paths of Varese Basketball and the Castelfranco Veneto manager finally meet.

In the coming days a press conference will be organised during which the new Board of Directors and the new general manager of Varese Basketball will be presented.
