O.D. ANOSIKE, NEW SIGNING FOR OPENJOBMETIS
Openjobmetis Varese Basketball announces that it has reached an agreement with the player O. D. Anosike. American centre with a Nigerian passport, Anosike has signed a one-year contract that will bind him to the Red & Whites until the end of the 2016/2017 season. A player with great athleticism, O.D. is a modern centre who shows his value under the backboards where he imposes his physique. An effective attacker and solid defender, in the seasons in Italy with the Pesaro, Avellino and Brindisi jerseys, he has always been the best rebounder in the league. Anosike, born January 3, 1991 in New York, comes to Varese after finishing the last season at Brindisi.

Career
O.D. Anosike began at Siena College (Albany County, New York State) where he established a record of 17 consecutive double-doubles becoming one of the best rebounders in the nation at the collegiate level. After a Summer League with the Denver Nuggets, in August 2013 he was hired by Pesaro, the team with which he amassed 14.3 points and an average of 13.1 rebounds per game, stats that earned him the title of best rebounder in the Italian championship. Once the LNB Pro A season closed with Strasbourg, he returned to Italy to wear the Avellino jersey which resulted in him again netting best player in the tournament under the backboards – with the Irpina team, he scored 11.5 points with 10.9 rebounds per game in 30 minutes on average. After a brief appearance in Spain with Baskonia, he signed up for AEK Athens. With the Greek team, he played four league games and five Eurocups before being called up to Brindisi in January of this year. With the Apulian team, he scored 10.1 points per game and an average of 5.8 rebounds in 14 games.
