Openjobmetis Varese Basketball announces that it has reached an agreement with player Massimo Bulleri. Born in Cecina, in the province of Livorno, on September 10, 1977, Bulleri has signed a contract that will bind him to the Red & Whites until the end of the 2016/2017 season. By signing Bulleri, who is a player that is praised by coaches and fans for his qualities as a ‘team player’, Openjobmetis Varese Basketball will be able to count on an athlete who has a great deal of experience.

Career

Establishing himself at the ‘nursery’ in Livorno Basketball, and then after 3 years spent wearing the jerseys of Ozzano, Mestre and Forlì, Bulleri joined the Treviso Basketball first team in 1999. In his first season in Serie A with the Venetian team, he won the Italian and Saporta Cups. His definitive sanctification, however, came two years later. In the 2001/2002 season, he became the leading player in both the league and in the Euroleague, just to add to his personal record of achievements of two consecutive league titles, three Italian Cups, two Italian Super Cups and three MVP titles. In 2005, he returned to Milan but his sojourn at Olimpia was not so fortunate. On loan, first to Virtus Bologna, and then to Treviso, he finally returned to the Green & Whites for the 2010/2011 season. In Treviso, he was honoured with the title of captain and played for two more seasons. After a brief appearance in Scafati, in October of 2012, he signed with Reyer Venezia where he made 33 appearances. In the last two seasons in the top division, he played for Brindisi where he collected 3.7 points on average in 48 appearances. Last season he wore the Ferentino jersey in Serie A2 where he scored 6.5 points in 17 minutes on average, with 1.5 assists. Bulleri, who is a player among the most popular and respected in Italian basketball, scored 1063 points in 127 matches in the nationals, winning the silver at the Olympics in Athens in 2004, a bronze in the European Championships in Sweden in 2003, and a bronze medal in the Mediterranean Games in Tunis in 2001.
