FERRERO IN THE CHAIR FOR BASKETBALL: A SCHOOL OF LIFE

Yesterday, Monday 27 January, the third seasonal meeting of “Basketball: a school of life” took place. This Varese Basketball project is sponsored by Fip, Coni and Varese Council, and was organised with the assistance of Intesa Sanpaolo and its purpose is to promote basketball in our province.
Before a crowd of students at the Edith Stein sports secondary school in Gavirate, Giancarlo Ferrero described his life as a professional athlete and university student, emphasising the importance of a work ethic in training and perfecting natural talent.
The meeting was also attended by Enerxenia, partner of the project, who reminded all the boys of the importance of safeguarding the environment by presenting them with a water bottle, to prevent waste and over-consumption of disposable plastics.
The students showered the Italian player with a host of inquisitive questions regarding his off-court activities which was followed by the traditional photo session with the pupils and the signing of autographs.
