AN AVALANCHE OF RECORDS FOR OPENJOBMETIS AGAINST CANTÙ

Openjobmetis Varese Basketball is still riding the wave. During the Christmas match against Cantù, they bagged a definitive win 89 to 71, which also saw the breaking of several personal and team records.

The Red & Whites recorded the best 3-pointer performance of the season that totalled 45.5%, surpassing 44.1% in the first day against Brescia. In addition, the 15 triples are a season record equalled for Openjobmetis who had achieved so many against the Brescia Lioness debut in the Lega Basket Serie A.

There is also a personal point record for Thomas Scrubb who with 27 points bettered the 22 he scored last season when he was wearing an Avellino jersey in the match against Trento. For him, this is the second best performance for a Varese player in the season following the 30 scored by Avramovic on the first day. Seven 3-pointers scored by a Red & White wing – only one other player this season had achieved 7 triples in a single game, which was Devyn Marble in the win against Trento on the ninth day against Turin. An avalanche of personal records for Scrubb – in addition to the triples, he also achieved a record for total shots scored (9), 3-pointer percentage (77.8%) and efficiency (33).
