It was a historic day for Varese Basketball and its fans on Monday, August 29. In the headquarters at Piazza Monte Grappa, 1% of the Red & White’s shares belonging to the ‘Varese in the Heart’ Consortium, owner of Varese Basketball, was transferred to the ‘We Are Basketball’ trust. This was established in the city this summer by its 15 founding members. The documents that sanctioned the transfer of the shares to the fans who decided to support the Varese Basketball to join ‘We Are Basketball’ were signed by Alberto Castelli, chairman of the ‘Varese in the Heart’ Consortium and Luca Villa, chairman of the ‘We Are Basketball’ association. Antonio Bulgheroni, counsellor of Varese Basketball was among the 15 founders of the popular shareholding ‘We are Basketball’ who were present at the signing of the historic agreement. The supporters’ trust ‘We Are Basketball’, will have its own space at the Lino Oldrini Palazzetto dello Sport on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 September at the first Consortium Competition – the aim is to promote the initiative to enlarge the fan base and welcome whoever wishes to join this innovative popular shareholding activity to support Varese Basketball.
