Lega Basket has officialised the Serie A 2018/19 schedule. Openjobmetis Varese Basketball will begin the season on Sunday, October 7 against Brescia. The following week, the team fly to Sardinia for the first trip of the year and Varese will play against Sassari on Sunday, October 14. The Red & Whites will thus be involved in a double home round against Trento (October 21) and the newly promoted Trieste (October 28). On November 4, there will be an away match against Reggio Emilia, while on November 11, the team will be at home against Avellino. On November 18, there will be an away match against Cremona while on November 25, at Masnago, Varese will square up against former Varese coach Vitucci's Brindisi. December 9 will see a trip to the lagoon for a battle against Venice. The 16th is then scheduled for a match against Turin. Christmas 2018 will feature a historic derby. On December 23, the Red & Whites will face an away match against Milan at the Mediolanum Forum, while there will be a classic derby against Cantù at home, timetabled for December 25. This will be the first time in its illustrious history that the Red & Whites will be on court on Christmas Day. The end of the year will see an away match for Openjobmetis Varese in Pesaro on December 30. The New Year will open with another trip – on January 6, the Red & Whites play in Pistoia. The first round will end on January 13 at the Enerxenia Arena against Virtus Bologna and the championship will close on Sunday May 12 in Bologna.
