VARESE-S.OLIVER WÜRZBURG: THE PRESS ROOM

Coach Attilio Caja at the end of Varese Basketball-s.Oliver Würzburg:

«Their physicality and athleticism were very difficult to deal with. The absence of Archie also penalised us and really highlighted this limitation. They did a very aggressive job holding back Avramovic to the full – he struggled to get into the game and to get the ball. Today, it would have been better if we'd had all our energy and, in addition, the distance shooting penalised us. So, it was difficult to think of staying in the game and competing against such an enduring, physical team. It was a difficult game, below our range of possibilities, like never before in the FIBA Europe Cup. If we don't have all our reserves of energy, we can't hope for 3-point percentages because this is not our best weapon. Too bad, because so far, we played the cup at a decent enough level. This is the first time that is has happened and we paid for it even if I don't feel like criticising the team too much. Now let's try to rest and get back the energy that we'll need on Saturday night to face a very high mountain to climb. We'll try to do the best we can against Milan as we have always done».
