«We are obviously speaking here about a defeat, but it isn’t really because even tonight we gave our all in terms of energy and the way we played basketball. We played 35 minutes of amazing basketball up until the point we were out of breath and energy. We were even ahead by 19. As I said last time, even today for 40 minutes we were ahead by 25. We demonstrated that we are competitive not, however, at a sufficiently high enough level to make the semi-finals. We left to defend our position in the rankings, the players were superb, we played excellent basketball and we have reached this point. Even this evening, being able to make a basket in less than a second with the right spacing in attack is a sign of the excellent work that we’ve been doing. We battled tooth and nail and the fans understood and appreciated this fact. In this series, we’ve demonstrated that we’ve been technically up to the mark, that all the players have grown and that each of them has improved a lot. And this makes me proud. The fans were fabulous tonight too – for this our gratitude goes out to them, and it seemed as if we hadn’t even lost a single game. I wish Germani well in the playoffs. They proved to be the stronger side and deserved the victory».
