Born in Bergamo on 6 April 1964
Vanoncini was assistant to Carlo Recalcati and Stefano Pillastrini at Montegranaro. His career is over 25 years long, including his experience as head coach and assistant. He started in the youth sector in Treviglio (1985/86) where he returned in 1992 first as assistant coach of the first team and then as head coach and manager of the youth teams (1994/95). Between those two periods, he sat on the benches of Forze Armate (1988/89) and Porto San Giorgio (1989/90). Once he ended his time in Bergamo, he coached several B1 and B2 teams, achieving major results: after the benches of Campli and Vigevano, in the 1997/98 season he was promoted to the B1 series, at the head of Borgomanero. He remained in Piedmont for another year and then moved to Cento for two championships. In 2001/02, he embraced the Casale Monferrato project and he immediately obtained a promotion to Serie B d’Eccellenza, and made it to the playoffs in the following two seasons. In 2004/05, he resumed his role of assistant coach in the Serie A: in Naples he was assistant to Andrea Mazzon and Attilio Caja, and then he moved to Montegranaro (2005-2009 and 2012-2014) until the end of the season. After an unfortunate short period in Jesi (only 12 games), in the summer of 2010 he was appointed assistant for the Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto team in the Legadue. When Cesare Pancotto resigned, he was promoted head coach of the Sicilian team until the end of the championship. In this last season he was assistant coach in Reggio Calabria, i.e. the team of the former white and red player Erik Rush.
