Luis Scola was born in Buenos Aires on 30 April 1980. He started playing basketball as a child at the Ferro Carril Oeste Club, making his début in the First Team in the 1996-97 season. From here, he moved to Spain, to Vitoria, where he stayed until 2007, except for a season on loan to Gijon. With a Baskonia jersey, Scola made a collection of trophies: one championship, three Copa del Rey and two SuperCups. On an individual level, he won two awards as MVP in Liga ACB, one as MVP in the SuperCup and was included twice in the first Euroleague quintet. He joined the NBA in 2007. He was there for ten years with the pros (Houston, Phoenix, Indiana, Toronto and Brooklyn) for a total of over 740 games. Last year, Milan brought him to Italy after two years in China. He played 15 games in the LBA, scoring 11.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in an average of 19′ of play, and tallied up more than 9 points and 4.4 rebounds with the same number of minutes in the Euroleague. Scola is a pillar in his national team, with whom he won a gold at the 2004 Olympics, bronze at the 2008 Olympics, and two silver medals at the 2002 and 2019 World Championships. In this last session, Scola scored 18 points and captured an average of 8 rebounds, ending up in the best quintet in the event.
