Openjobmetis Varese Basketball is pleased to announce the successful signing of player, Justin Carter. Guard/wing class of 1987, Carter has signed a contract that will keep him at the Red & White's Club until the end of the current season. Carter is an athletic player who is able to truly understand the two stages of the game – the defensive and the offensive, – owing to his experiences in Euroleague with Galatasaray and Pınar Karşıyaka. After winning the FIBA Europe Cup with Sassari last year, he began the current season in France wearing a Chorale Roanne jersey.
Career:
Born 21 April, 1987 in Gaithersburg (Maryland), Carter spent his college years in California between Compton Community and Fullerton, before making his NCAA début in the 2008-2009 season with the Creighton Bluejays. He began his career as a professional in 2010-2011 in Europe in the ranks of SK Zilina, for whom he put 21 points and 8 rebounds onto his score sheet per game. He moved over to Turkey in the following season where he showcased his talent wearing jerseys for Vestelspor Manisa, Tire Belediye and Uşak Sportif, experiences that took him to Galatasaray in December 2014, where he made his début in the Euroleague (8.3 points and 5.8 rebounds in 14 appearances) helping to put him in the Top 16. He took part in the Summer League in Las Vegas with the Phoenix Suns in July 2015, and with Pınar Karşıyaka in Turkey in 2015-2016. After a very brief stint in China (Guangdong Southern Tigers) and Venezuela (Bucaneros de La Guaira), he signed up with the Russians at Khimki in 2016-2017 and ended the season in Israel with Maccabi Kiryat Gat. In the 2017-2018 season, he wore a Kazakh BK Astana jersey, a team with whom he won the title and the national cup. Last year, after beginning in the United Arab Emirates, he ended up in Sassari where he won the FIBA Europe Cup. He started the year in France in the ranks of Chorale Roanne.
