Openjobmetis Varese Basketball is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement for one year with class of 1989, Central American Jeremy Simmons. Enduring, explosive, 204-centimetre Simmons is a complete player, solid in defence and effective in attack, owing to the danger that he poses both near and far from the basket. Last season he wore a Poderosa Montegranaro Basketball jersey , a team with whom he reached the fourth playoffs valid for promotion to Serie A.

Having cut his teeth at Charleston college (in his last year with the Cougars he scored 13.3 points and 6.2 average rebounds per game, and won the Southern Conference 2010 defender of the year award), Jeremy Jerome Simmons began his career in Europe by joining Polpharma Starograd Gdanski. the team with whom he tallied up 10.8 points (shooting with 68.6% 2-pointers and 33.3% 3-pointers) and 7.2 rebounds per game. In 2012-2013, he moved to Slovakia, to Astrum Levice, where he further improved his stats (12.6 points and 7.2 rebounds), while the following season he was in Georgia at Sokhumi Tbilisi (16.2 points and 10.8 rebounds) closing the year in Saudi Arabia, at Al Ittihad Jeddah, where he contributed to the victory of the national title. In 2014-2015, he made his landing Scafati, in Italy, where he established himself as one of the best players in the league because of the 17 points and 9.8 rebounds per game on average. He stayed in the Yellow & Blues even for the following year, leading his team to the semi-finals for promotion to Serie A, before taking up the two-year offer by Basic-Fit Brussels (12.2 points and 5.9 rebounds in 2016-2017 and 11.1 points and 5.9 rebounds in 2017 -2018), the team with whom he makes his début in a European competition, the FIBA Europe Cup. Last season, he returned to Italy to Poderosa Montegranaro Basketball and closed the regular season with 11.8 points and 8.5 rebounds.
