Earlier this afternoon, Thursday 20 August 2020, the LBA made the 2020-2021 Series A calendar official. Varese Basketball will make its début on Sunday 27 September in the friendly confines of the Enerxenia Arena with a battle against Brescia. The following week the Red & Whites will play on the Fortitudo Bologna court of former Meo Sacchetti, and the following week (Sunday 11 October), they return to Masnago for the derby against Cantù. On the fourth and fifth day, Openjobmetis will face Cremona (away) and Virtus Bologna (back at home in Varese) respectively, before a double away game on court at Sassari (Sunday 1 November) and Pesaro (the following week). Caja's lads will return to Enerxenia Arena on Sunday 15 November for a match against Rome before an away match at Trento and home matches against Milan (6 December) and Reggio Emilia (13 December). On Sunday 20 December, Varese will be busy on the parquet floor in Venice. The following week, it will host Treviso for their final engagement in 2020. The new year opens on Sunday 3 January 2021, with a battle at Trieste followed by a home game against Brindisi (10 January), which will close the first leg and will officially determine the 8 teams that will qualify for the Italian Cup Final Eight (to be played from 11 to 14 February). The second half starts on 17 January and ends on Sunday 2 May. A midweek round is scheduled for Wednesday 14 April. 

PLAY-OFFS
The format of the quarter-finals and semi-finals that are to be played over the best of 5 games, and the final that will be played over the best of 7 games, is unchanged. The dates are to be made official on the basis of whether or not the Italian teams take part in the final stages of European club competitions.
