In the early afternoon of today, Wednesday, July 31, the Basketball League announced the Serie A 2019/20 calendar. Varese Basketball will start the season for its fans on Thursday, 26 September against Coach Gianmarco Pozzecco's Banco di Sardegna Sassari. After just three days, the Allianz Dome Trieste will host the Red & White's first away match of the year who will then later be engaged in matches against Bologna (on 6 October at home against Fortitudo, and on the 20th at PalaDozza against Virtus), interspersed with a period of rest. On 27 October, Coach Caja's lads will return to court to the Enerxenia Arena against Brindisi, while on 3 November they will greet the arduous court at Olimpia Milano. Following this are matches against Brescia (at PalaLeonessa on Sunday, 10 November), Venice (at home on Sunday 17), Reggio Emilia (at PalaBigi on the 24th) and Rome (another friendly on Sunday, 1 December), before the derby at PalaBancoDesio against Cantù, which will be played on 8 December. Ferrero and his team-mates will, therefore, encounter Pesaro at home (15 December) and Cremona at PalaRadi (22 December), which will precede a double home series of matches that will see Varese Basketball host Pistoia (26 December) and Trento (29 December). The first round will end on 5 January, 2020 at PalaVerde against the newly promoted Treviso. The championship will close on Sunday, April 26.
